Are you watching #COP26?

Whether you think you have time or not, watching #COP26 is something that we suggest you do…

WHY?

The simple answer is there are lots of things that will be broadcast which are going to impact on what you or business is doing….

Or put it another way, things will be said that will make you stop, think and realise that you need to be taking action to move make a difference…

Whilst we all say we are doing our bit when it comes to making a difference – the question is – are you really doing the things that are important?

You may be thinking it’s all around #ClimateChange but it’s not….

It is all about what you doing when it comes to SDG’s – are you really doing any of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals?

What are these Goals?

These 17 Goals are broken down here for you:-

Sustainable Development Goal 1: No Poverty

Sustainable Development Goal 2:  Zero Hunger

Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being

Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education

Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality

Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation

Sustainable Development Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy

Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Sustainable Development Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities

Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action

Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water

Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land

Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals

Whether you think you or your Business may not be affected by any of the above, we would like to say you’re wrong as everyone of those 17 Goals above do impact both you and your company.

So whether you work for yourself, work for a company or own your own business, these #SDGs are really important and can a difference.

We have seen that Organisations and Businesses over the last 18 months are now starting to ask their suppliers “what they are doing with SDG’s”, “are you aligning your Business to the SDG initiative”, “what Goals are you aligned to and how can we wok together on them”, etc etc – this is becoming more and more common….

And mostly, it not the Company’s Board or Managers, but it’s being driven by their younger employees who see this as something that the company needs be actively involved in. For some employees, it’s also being driven by their children too.

And you don’t have to watch the event live, you can watch the sessions on catch up here

So if you still aren’t sure about how this is something you can relate too or how to implement any of these Goals, then just fill out the form below and we will help you understand more about 17 Sustainable Development Goals and what you can do….

Looking at Council failings…….

One of the things that has become more and more apparent is the failure of Councils to react to the future and being too busy focusing on the past and always blaming the Government!

Councils have an obligation to deliver services but also have the interests of it’s residents/constituents in it’s main sights too!

Yet why is it whenever the Local Councillors change, the same things always happen and no changes are made – are we seeing that the Council Officials are the ones paying the Councillors lip service who in turn pay their electorate lip service too?

As a society we need to make sure that we are paying account more and more to what is in our favour as taxpayers and start to use laws against them. Therefore, one thing that we should be using more and more, is the Localism Act 2011 and as taxpayers, we need to challenge decisions and be able to hold the Council more to account.

Whilst the Localism Act 2011 is a huge document to read, there is a simple break down to it here. Also, there is a clear and concise 22 page Plain English Briefing Document too which helps immensely as well.

As a community, we need to start looking at how the Councils are behaving and look to see Communities can reclaim local assets and look after them like our Local Councils should be doing.

So, we would like to hear from you (please use the contact form below) and see how we can work together to make sure our Communities are being looked after and delivering the services that the Community wants, needs or demands…..
